Baseball, sushi and sake

On Wednesday night we headed off to Tokyo to meet up with a friend of a friend, and watch the Yakult Swallows baseball team in action. The atmosphere was lively and jovial, we spent most of the time chatting and drinking smuggled beer rather than watching the game, but I did manage to catch the Swallows' only home run, and we joined in the team song and dance, which involves waving around small umbrellas. Don't think it would catch on in the UK, can't see thousands of umbrellas being allowed into football grounds!

We headed back to Yokohama and found ourselves a nice little sushi bar for a second dinner. I'm a fan of the standard sushi but not so keen on the fish eggs, not sure Jonny is either after I forced him to eat my share...

Yum yum fish eggs
All was going fine until we were bought sake and sushi by a couple of the regulars. We didn't feel like we could turn it down, despite the fact we were both aware we had had more than enough alcohol at this point. The hangover lasted all of the next day.... beer and wine = fine, beer and sake = ???
